The Story
A small wooden bag appeared mysteriously one day on a table in the middle of a town square, accompanied by a short note stating:
‘This box can only be opened at noon on the last day of next month or not for another 100 years’.
The townspeople were inflamed with curiosity as they feverishly debated what to do.
Everyone guessed what lay inside that curious bag but no one could say for certain. The sense of possibility would remain alive as long as it remained unopened. As noon on the last day of the month approached the town waited to see what would happen.
Noon came and went but no one opened the bag for fear that knowing would destroy the hopeful mystery they had grown to cherish.
