The Story
Almost certainly true.
A timetraveller from the distant future lost a beautiful object when it unwittingly fell from their pocket. Now, to any ordinary person it looked just like a beautiful pen but was far more.
When the traveller departed a passerby discovered the object & used it as they sat at a cafe.
As they wrote, a strange pattern emerged. With some sentences, a small symbol at the bottom of the pen would click & either elevate or recede. In time, it seemed that — somehow, someway — the mysterious pen recognised as correct or incorrect, the things it wrote.
That sparked an idea.
The owner feverishly filled a notebook with sentence after sentence. Eliminating & affirming guesses both wild and believable, the pen’s amazing history slowly emerged.
Armed with the knowledge any ordinary person from the future possessed but which was extraordinary in an earlier time (like today), the owner did the very things you too (and a few you wouldn’t). And fame awaited.
(The pen on the other hand remained a secret to everyone except its owner.)
