The Story

Bicocca is the name of a district on the north edge of Milan — university buildings, old industrial sheds turned into lecture halls, students crossing the tram tracks with a coffee before nine o’clock lectures. It’s an unglamorous word by Milanese standards, more workday than opera house, more cocoa-and-bakery-at-dawn than anything trying to impress you — which might be exactly why Rocket borrowed it for one of theirs.

Oscar drew this one for the details that only ever get noticed by the person making the coffee: the twin steam wands curling out from either side, the knobs, the small ‘R’ pressed into the badge on the front panel where no customer would ever see it. Nothing here is showing off. It’s just built to be used correctly, every morning, by someone in a hurry to get to the tram.
