The Story
This one didn’t come with a name on it — no gold badge, no printed model number, just the machine and its grinder standing side by side like they’d been asked to pose for a photograph.
Oscar named it after Giotto di Bondone, the 13th-century Florentine generally credited as the first painter to draw people who looked like they were actually standing on the ground rather than floating in gold leaf — the one who noticed weight, shadow, the unglamorous physics of things. It felt right for a machine-and-grinder pair with no ceremony to their design: nothing showing off, everything simply doing its job, correctly, under its own quiet gravity.
